Join these two giants of Jewish history and much more, reunited to present this special evening for you.

They will tackle subjects including:-

  • How come Judaism has survived persecution, hatred and internal divisions for so long?
  • Is it religion, anti-Semitism, culture, history or just a bloody miracle???
  • Is it the rule of law that the Rabbonim enclosed us in?
  • Is it the restrictions that were imposed that honed our survival genes?
  • Is it purely due to Anti-Semitism?

Rabbi Jeremy Rosen’s now lives in New York where he is the Rabbi to the Persian Jewish Center and teaches at the JCC. His mission remains to teach and make it enjoyable as he has done to thousands over many years. A proponent of the importance of questions he uses the interaction to show what Judaism has to offer and how it can be reconciled with modernity.

Rabbi Rosen was the eldest son of Rabbi Kopul Rosen who founded Carmel College where Jeremy was educated and where he became the Headmaster and then Principal.  His career has included rabbinical and educational posts around the world.

Trudy Gold is a senior historian teaching regular classes and evening events at JW3.  She and Rabbi Rosen often shared a stage at the LJCC in Kidderpore Avenue. She specialises in all aspects of Modern Jewish History and in Holocaust Studies where she is a world authority sitting on the International Task Force. In 2018 JW3 presented Trudy with a special award for her achievements and outstanding contributions.

This is a unique opportunity afforded by Covid-19 and we are delighted that Rabbi Rosen has agreed to join us to team teach this evening.
