In January 2000, at The Stockholm Declaration 46 countries came together and agreed to promote and extend Holocaust education and commemoration, and to open up and care for archives and relevant sites.

Since then, more and more organisations have been involved in this work. Never has Holocaust education been so wide spread, and so many memorials created.

However, recent research from UCL Centre for Holocaust Education showed shocking levels of ignorance about the Holocaust. In addition racism and antisemitism are at an alarming level. So we have to ask the question “Has Holocaust Education failed?” An expert panel will debate this question. The panel includes:

Trudy Gold (Director of Holocaust Studies JW3),  Olivia Marks-Woldman (Chief Executive Holocaust Memorial Day Trust ) , Lord Eric Pickles (United Kingdom Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues), Ruth-Anne Lenga (Head of Academic Programmes, Centre for Holocaust Education UCL), Dame Helen Hyde (Trustee of Holocaust Educational Trust), Henry Grunwald OBE QC (Chair National Holocaust Centre and Museum), Dave Rich (Deputy Communications Director CST ), James Bulgin (Head of Content, Holocaust Galleries at The Imperial War Museum ), Ben Barkow (Director of the Wiener Library) and Karen Pollock MBE (Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust).

In partnership with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
