A frustrated Afro-Cuban ballet dancer seduces a lonely Iranian-Canadian divorcee to secure passage from Cuba to Canada, where he plans to reunite with his girlfriend.

Synopsis
Desperate to leave Cuba, salsa teacher and aspiring classical dancer Leonardo and his ambitious lawyer girlfriend Sara come up with a plan: Leonardo will make one of his foreign students fall for him and, on her return to her country, she will invite him to come live with her. Once his work visa has been granted, Sara will join him in their new land where they will both be free to pursue their professional dreams.
At first, their scheme seems to be working perfectly: Leonardo seduces newly divorced Nasim, an Iranian-Jewish woman living in Canada, and she asks him to come visit her in Montreal. Getting to know Nasim and his new adoptive city, however, makes Leonardo look anew at his life. Full of music, dancing and colour, Sin La Habana is a stunning exploration of love, passion and commitment.
