Come and hear about the exponential growth of the Urban Kibbutzim in Israel, a phenomenon that began in the late 1980's and has now reached virtually every town and city in Israel.

Understand how these full-income sharing intentional communities have traded the cowsheds and fields of the classic rural kibbutz, for educational and social justice work in Israeli inner cities. You will be in the capable hands of Anton Marks, who has been studying and observing intentional communities, and specifically kibbutz, for many years, and will be speaking to the class from Kibbutz Mishol, an urban kibbutz where 150 people all live under one roof.

Anton Marks is a British-born Israeli and a founder member of the largest urban kibbutz in Israel. He has been an educator for 30 years and his passion for Tikkun Olam, Jewish history, Kibbutz, Israeli politics, identity and culture are a recipe for engaging and challenging sessions.

Through our new online platform JW3 is delighted to be able to bring you the very best international thinkers and teachers from around the world – Anton will be joining us from Israel.
