JW3 provides a safe space for anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ or are currently exploring their identity.

This extends to our growing online community during this time where we are unable to connect in person.

We will be hosting a Zoom LGBTQ+ Cafe to create a regular sense of community and to explore issues relating to being LGBTQ+ and Jewish.

We are delighted to be partnering with UJIA on this cafe and to be joined by Assaf Weiss, a Former Senior Advisor to Israel’s Minister of Health, former Director of Programs and Operation at the American Jewish Congress, and currently serves as CEO of Unistream. Assaf was also elected as the Secretary of the GLBT-Jewish World Congress – an umbrella organization brining together dozens of LGBTQ-Jewish communities from across the world.

While he served as a senior advisor to Israel’s Health Minister, Assaf initiated and was in charge of many LGBTQ achievements and political campaigns in the Israeli government, such as, promoting the first governmental legislation to end surrogacy discrimination for LGBTQ, revolutionizing sex reassignment surgery regulation for the transgender community, fighting conversion treatments, ending the ban on blood donation from MSM in Israel and initiating a special yearly LGBTQ Human Rights Day at the Knesset.

He will will share his experience of working for increased LGBT+ rights in Israel and we will have a conversation about the different ways and approaches to activism.

This event is suitable for those who identify as LGBTQ+ and are aged 18 to 35.

Please note

A Zoom link to join this event will be included in the confirmation email upon booking.
