Jonathan will talk about his work at the JCC in Krakow, which expanded at the start of the war to in Ukraine to aid refugees who made their way to Krakow.

In March of 2023, a book was published that showcases this critical work, deftly captured by photographer and author Chuck Fishman. JCC Krakow, an institution founded by HRH King Charles III to rebuild Jewish life in Krakow, has directly helped more than 250,000 refugees, 98% of whom are not Jewish.

Jonathan Ornstein is the CEO of the Jewish Community Centre of Krakow. The JCC is devoted to rebuilding Jewish life in Krakow and has become one of Poland’s most visible signs of Jewish revival. Prior to the Centre’s opening, Jonathan lectured in Jewish studies at Krakow’s Jagiellonian University for six years and founded the Gesher Association for Polish-Israeli Dialogue.
