The Shoshani Riddle is a captivating documentary that traces director Michael Grynszpan’s obsessive search for the truth behind one of the 20th century’s most enigmatic figures.

Known only as “Mr. Shoshani,” this extraordinary nomad was a genius fluent in around thirty languages, versed in philosophy, mathematics, and sacred texts, and a teacher to luminaries like Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel and philosopher Emmanuel Levinas.

Despite his vast intellect and influence, Shoshani lived without a home, adopted multiple identities, and left almost no concrete evidence of his life. Over ten years, Grynszpan travels the world interviewing witnesses, uncovering lost manuscripts, and piecing together the legend and legacy of a man who has become both myth and mystery.

Directed by Michael Grynszpan.
