Join us for a special Pride Month screening of Mazel Tov followed by a Q&A with its writer-director Eli Zuzovsky.

The short film centres around a banquet hall in Israel, at the height of a war when Adam Weizmann's bar mitzvah party turns into a glorious catastrophe. On the cusp of manhood—and on the verge of a nervous breakdown—Adam takes a crucial step toward coming to terms with his sexuality.

Eli Zuzovsky is an Israeli-born director, writer, and journalist. A 2021 Rhodes Scholar, he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University with a BA in Filmmaking and English Literature. His short film Mazel Tov, starring Israeli Academy Award-winner Maya Dagan, Amit Rahav (Netflix’s Unorthodox), and Amir Khoury (Netflix’s Fauda), was shortlisted for the 2021 Israeli Academy Award. In 2022, he made the Israeli Forbes list of 30 Under 30.

Zuzovsky’s first play, Minotaur, won the Best Play and Best Ensemble awards at the 2017 Jaffa Spring Festival. His plays and short films have been presented at The New York Jewish Film Festival, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and The American Repertory Theater, among others. He currently studies for an MSt in Modern Languages at the University of Oxford and works as an associate editor at The Oxonian Review.
