In this fun and imaginative workshop, graphic novelist Hannah Eaton takes you step-by-step to cut, paste and draw a pop-up “animation set”, placed within a Tree House discovered within an enchanted forest setting.

Hannah starts by introducing you to her favourite pop-up book - Jan Pieńkowski’s Haunted House - for ideas for possible moving parts within your pop-up set, before describing some of the Yiddish, Japanese and Scottish folklore from her first graphic novel, Naming Monsters, again to fire up the creator within. After cutting, pasting and drawing your set, you’ll grab a branch to help recreate an enchanted forest setting for the Tree House, captured on film and featured in the Enchanted Cinema’s touring show.
