What happened to the skateboarding mermaid of Milton Keynes? Have you met the battle rapping parrot and crow? Or heard music from the magical island of WooHoo? Anything and everything is possible in the incredible world of Tongue Fu.

Featuring special guest, Rachel Rose Reid, "Queen of the New Wave of storytellers" - BBC Radio 3.

The hit spoken word and music show, Tongue Fu for Kids has blazed a trail at the Royal Albert Hall, Southbank and festivals throughout the UK, delighting audiences aged seven and up.

Chris Redmond and the lightning-fast Tongue Fu band combine the wonky, weird and wonderful in a show that is a unique fusion of poetry, storytelling, music and improvisation.

Tongue Fu started as an experiment 15 years ago when Chris invited some musicians and poets to put on a show with no rehearsal. Since then it has grown to become one of the UK’s leading spoken word and music shows.

Tongue Fu has played the Roundhouse, Glastonbury, Edinburgh Festival, Dublin to Cape Town to Rio, with features on Sky Arts and BBC R2’s Arts show with Jonathon Ross. In 2020 Tongue Fu released their studio album, Boat Building - a collaboration with Vanessa Kisuule, Dizraeli, Amyra León, Anthony Anaxagorou and more. It featured on BBC6Music, BBC
R1, 1Xtra, BBCR4’s Loose Ends, BBC Introducing and WorldWideFM.

Tongue Fu creator and frontman Chris Redmond is a regular at UK music and literature festivals and has featured on BBC R1, 2, 4 and 6Music. His experience as an educator includes work with CBBC, BBC 1Xtra and Apples & Snakes. The Tongue Fu musicians, as well as being top session players (credits include work for Jamie Cullum, Nostalgia 77, Puppini Sisters and Massive Attack) are expert facilitators, working in schools, universities and conservatoires.
