What is Still Alive?
Still Alive is a social arts project. We bring a group of people together and, very simply, we just get them to draw a Jewish building and some of the people that are in it. We want to capture the living nature of our Jewish community. We are running sessions across London in 2025/26, supported by a Limmud microgrant. We think that a drawing group is a really nice way of both looking at things in a different way and also meeting people you might not otherwise meet. You absolutely don’t need to be any good at drawing!
We will take you through some warm up sketching activities and then give you time to draw freely the JW3 building and people (with permission). No drawing experience required. We will provide the materials.
Josh Dresner is a keen amateur sketcher. He has been sketching for a few years and has taken classes as an adult to improve. When not sketching he is a design researcher for the UK government.
Abigail is terrible at drawing but good at being sociable. She is very keen to celebrate our extraordinary Jewish community.
