Commemorating the anniversary of Yom Hashoah, 'Kindness' by Cate Hollis and Mark Wheeller, is a play based on the testimony of Hungarian survivor Susan Pollack OBE, aged only 13 when she was sent to the notorious Auschwitz-Birkenau in the summer of 1944.

Interwoven are a number of complementary narratives, including that of Mala Zimetbaum and Edek Galinski whose stunning love story and spiritual resistance is painted across a backdrop of one of the darkest periods in human history. 'Kindness' has been described as “beautiful and empowering”, “extraordinary” and “breathtaking”.

The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with the actors, director and writer Cate Hollis and co-author Mark Wheeller.

Voices of the Holocaust is a charity that specialises in Holocaust theatre in education. Since its premiere, Kindness has been seen by over 16,000 students in schools across England and Wales. Voices has performed at the European Parliament, is supported by the Association for Jewish Refugees and by the European Jewish Fund.
