Join Dr Shelley Braude, Jewish Life Coordinator at Clifton College, as she explores the remarkable Jewish history of this pioneering school.
Clifton College was the first private school in the UK to admit Jewish students, and in 1878 it established a dedicated Jewish boarding house.
Although the boarding house has shut down, the school continues to run a Jewish Life Program and to this day, it remains the only non-Jewish school in the country with its own synagogue on site – complete with an ark and Torah scrolls.
