The UK premiere of HERE LIVED tells the remarkable story of the Stolpersteine, small brass memorial stones created by German artist Gunter Demnig and placed outside the last freely chosen homes of people persecuted and murdered by the Nazis.

What began as a conceptual art project has grown into the world’s largest decentralised memorial, with more than 100,000 stones laid across Europe.

Through stories from the Netherlands, including hidden children, survivors, descendants and those continuing Demnig’s work, the film explores the profound personal impact of restoring names and identities to those who were lost. Moving between past and present, HERE LIVED is a powerful film about memory, family, loss and the ways in which art can create connection across generations. Screened in the lead-up to Holocaust Memorial Day, it is also a timely reflection on how we remember individual lives and ensure that their stories continue to be seen, spoken and carried forward.

There will be a post film talk with director Jane Bernstein Wells and Director of the Jewish Museum/Cultural Quarter Amsterdam Emile Schrijver
