Do you often find yourself feeling stiff, tense or uncomfortable with aches and pains that keep coming back? Over the years, many of us develop habits of sitting, standing and moving that put unnecessary strain on our bodies without us even noticing. The Alexander Technique helps you recognise and gently change these habits so you can move with greater ease, improve your posture naturally, and reduce pain and unnecessary tension.

What You Will Learn
A practical workshop showing how to sit and stand more comfortably and how to move more freely. The workshop will also demonstrate a practice that you can do (lying down on the floor if possible) to restore your body back to a more natural alignment.

Who Should Attend
The Alexander Technique can help with conditions including - back pain and sciatica; knee, hip, neck and shoulder pain; Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, fibromyalgia and hypermobility. However, the workshop is for anyone wanting to feel better. All ages are welcome; no experience of the Technique is required.

Jen Elkeles discovered the benefits of the Alexander Technique after suffering from over a decade of chronic pain and sciatica. She was so deeply affected by the restorative effect on her spine and back, and other benefits, and its potential for helping others, that she gave up her 20-year career in the civil service and legal roles within the NHS to undertake the 3-year practitioner training. Jen has worked as an Alexander Technique practitioner within a chronic pain team in the NHS and has helped a wide range of people recover from a variety of conditions.

Please wear comfortable clothes and preferably trousers rather than a skirt.
