Known for staging elaborate musical production numbers that often involved complex geometric patterns, Busby Berkeley was a hugely gifted director and ground-breaking choreographer.

In the 1920s alone, he was a dance director for nearly two dozen Broadway musicals and was famous for using a large numbers of showgirls and props as fantasy elements in kaleidoscopic on-screen performances.

Join George as he looks at some rarely shown production numbers created by Busby Berkeley musicals, including The Singing Marine, Bitter Sweet and Stars Over Broadway.

George McGhee has worked in the media for over 35 years, latterly at the BBC where he was responsible for all feature films and non-UK TV series. He is now a popular lecturer on major cruise ships, and hugely popular at JW3 where his stories come alive.
