An Evening of Music and Stories

He arranged "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" for Monty Python, wrote the tank chase for GoldenEye, taught Michael Caine to sing, and somehow stayed almost completely anonymous while doing it. Emmy and BAFTA-winning composer John Altman has spent fifty years working alongside Bowie, Bjork, George Michael, Quincy Jones, and Amy Winehouse -yet remains, by his own design, one of music's best-kept secrets.

Following the publication of his memoir Hidden Man, Altman returns with an intimate retrospective unlike any other: stripped-back versions of the hits he shaped from behind the scenes, performed with piano accompaniment and threaded through with the stories behind them - sung down a phone line to James Cameron in Mexico, chaperoning Bob Marley round London, the whistled solo in Life of Brian. Expect live music and a host who has, by all accounts, met everyone and forgotten none of it.
