From New York to Sydney, to Vienna and London, the Aviv Quartet has captivated audiences with its exceptional performances at the world’s most prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, l’Auditorium du Louvre, Wigmore Hall, and the Konzerthaus Berlin.
It has also performed at festivals such as Verbier, Davos, Aix-en-Provence, Lubéron, and les Folles Journées de Nantes.
Their superb programme opens with one of Haydn’s most richly inventive pieces; and continues with Mendelssohn’s beautiful and rarely heard Capriccio, published after his death. Beethoven’s late Op 131 was his own favourite, and many listeners and players share his love of the piece.
The subject of many books and films, it has absolutely everything: profundity, fun, sorrow, hilarity, struggle, peaceful reflection, and a stream of inspired invention.
Musician Biographies
Daniel Mitnitsky
Daniel Mitnitsky began his cello studies with Zvi Harell in Tel Aviv. Daniel was a member of the David Goldman Outstanding Young Musicians Program of the Jerusalem Music Centre and has been a recipient of scholarships for cello and chamber music from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 2001. Daniel received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (Tel Aviv University), as student of Zvi Harell, graduating with honors, winning the school’s concerto competition and first prize in the chamber music competition. Daniel has recently graduated with a Masters degree and a Graduate diploma from the New England Conservatory as student of Natasha Brofsky and Paul Katz. At NEC,
Daniel has been a member of the Honors Ensemble program and a recipient of the Edward Hyde Cox Presidential Scholarship. Winner of the Rachel and Dov Gottesman cello prize in the 2012 Aviv Competition in Tel Aviv. Participated in master classes with David Geringas, Phillipe Muller, Heinrich Schiff, Natalia Gutman and Frans Helmerson, and was invited to study with Bernard Greenhouse in 2008.
Over the years, Daniel has collaborated with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, Roger Tapping, of the Juilliard string quartet, Talich string quartet, Jacques Thibaud string trio and composers Steven Stucky, John Corigliano and John Heiss. Daniel also performed in the Keshet Eilon Mastercourse, Aspen Music Festival, Orford Music Academy and the Perlman Music Program.

Noémie Bialobroda
Born in Paris in 1988, Noémie Bialobroda studied with Nobuko Imai and Miguel Da Silva at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and with Jean Sulem in the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.
A passionate professor, Noémie Bialobroda currently is Viola professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, Chamber Music professor at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, and she is since 2021 the Coordinator of Chamber Music at the Haute École de Musique de Genève.
Noémie Bialobroda is the founder and Artistic Director of the Geneva International String Academy.
Noemie has won prizes in numerous competitions and scholarship including the Beethoven International Viola Competition 2010, the Fondation Hirschmann (Switzerland) and the Fondation Meyer (France).
As a passionate chamber musician, she has played with Luis Claret, Boris Garlitsky, Francois Guye, Philippe Müller, Tedi Papavrami, Jean Sulem, Jean-Pierre Wallez, the Rosamonde String Quartet for concerts in France, Germany, Spain, China, Switzerland, Austria, USA and Israël.

Brandon Garbot
Brandon is originally from Portland, OR and studied at the Curtis Institute of Music with Ida Kavafian and Arnold Steinhardt. He received his Master’s and Master Soloist Diploma with Rainer Schmidt at the Basel Music Academy, and received further instruction and influence from William Preucil, Itzhak Perlman and Miriam Fried.
As a life-long chamber musician, he has performed at festivals such as Verbier, Ravinia, Yellow Barn, Gstaad and Krzyzowa and has collaborated with musicians such as Shmuel Ashkenasi, Sol Gabetta, Viviane Hagner, Kim Kashkashian, Ivan Monighetti, and Helena Winkelman. He has also been a regular guest of ensembles such as Festival Strings Lucerne, Camerata Variabile, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Tonhalle- Orchester Zürich.
He was awarded the Music Prize of the Kiefer-Hablitzel and Göhner Foundation in Bern and was a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Foundation of Mainz. Garbot is currently based in Basel, Switzerland.

Anna Göckel
French violinist Anna Göckel has garnered international attention as a sophisticated and versatile artist, consistently praised for her refinement, intelligent musicianship and expressivity.
Awarded by the French-Grammy “Révélations classiques de l’ADAMI” (2016), and the SACEM’s “Enesco Prize” (2020), she immerses herself in a wide-ranging musical repertoire from Baroque to contemporary works.
She has appeared as a soloist in Europe, the US and South America and is also deeply committed to chamber music. Winner of the ARD Competition in Munich with the Karénine Trio, she is currently first violinist with the Aviv Quartet.
Anna Göckel has been regularly invited by Jonathan Biss and Mitsuko Ushida to the Marlboro Music Festival (USA), and by Steven Isserlis to the Open Chamber Music sessions of Prussia Cove (UK). She will be on tour with both programs this year, debuting at Carnegie Hall and returning to Wigmore Hall.
Having studied with the Ysaÿe Quartet, David Grimal, Boris Belkin, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Anna Göckel found deep inspiration in masterclasses with Miriam Fried, Georgy Kurtag, Ferenc Rados, Donald Weilerstein.
