Over the past three years, Ciara Shalome has been collecting oral testimonies pertaining to the multi-faceted lived experiences of Mizrahi Jews - aiming to spotlight these underrepresented voices and stories via social media.
Today, with over 100,000 followers on Instagram, Ciara has played a vital role in ensuring that the testimonies of Jewish people from the Middle East and North Africa are uplifted and remembered for generations to come.
During The Mizrahi Story: Live, a few of the most compelling voices from Ciara’s platform, across two generations, will come together for a live, intimate interview. Seated around a communal table, they will share personal stories, memories, traditions, and the challenges they’ve faced.
Before the event begins, guests are invited to explore a vibrant lively Shuk featuring community-made art, crafts, and a speciality vegan Kubbeh tasting by Mazal.
