The past is on trial. The verdict could tear them apart — or set them free.
Steinberg v Steinberg is a gripping new play set in 1980s New York, the night after Rosh Hashanah. Two sisters — one a lawyer, the other a law school dropout — stage a mock trial for their dying mother, confronting long-buried family secrets of abuse, complicity, and silence. Meanwhile, a Dybbuk (a malicious Jewish spirit) lurks in the shadows. Over the course of one night, the sisters must decide whether justice or forgiveness will set them free. Blending family drama, courtroom tension, and supernatural theatre, Steinberg v Steinberg is a powerful exploration of trauma, women’s rights and the struggle to move on.
