Lucie Kon took on the BBC and won. The Oscar, BAFTA and Emmy-winning documentary Executive Producer was made redundant after raising a formal complaint, just 19 days after Mr Nobody Against Putin, a film she commissioned and Executive Produced for the BBC, won the  BBC an Oscar.

Her name was even removed from its credits. This month she went public, having settled her legal claim against the BBC out of court, with no gagging clause and her credits restored.

Lucie’s career spans more than 30 years, from BBC Radio Leeds and Westminster to Radio 4’s Today programme, Panorama and Storyville. Her films include Mr Nobody Against Putin, Surviving October 7th: We Will Dance Again and Panorama’s The Prince and the Epstein Scandal.

After October 7th, she set up a group for Jewish staff at the BBC. What followed changed the course of her career. She talks to her former Panorama colleague John Ware about what happened, and what the BBC must change to keep the trust of its audiences.
