London's Jewish History over the Centuries

Starting in Aldgate and crossing the historic City of London, you will discover the fascinating story of London’s Jewish population from medieval times to the present day. Learn about the Jews brought to England by William the Conqueror after 1066, the expulsion under Edward I in 1290, the resettlement under Cromwell in 1656, and subsequent Jewish immigration up to the present day. 

During our walk, you will see many of the most important sites in the City – including those connected to London’s rich and complex Jewish history. Hear about various London Jewish personalities over the years, and about Jewish life in Britain and beyond.
