A dialogue between cultures, a bridge between composition and improvisation: the Liat Cohen Trio brings together Jewish roots, the ancestral percussion of Brazil, the ancient instruments of the Middle East, and above all, Liat Cohen's virtuosic classical guitar.

Named "the Princess of Classical Guitar," Cohen is a First Prize winner of the Paris Conservatory and the first guitarist to receive the Nadia Boulanger Prize. She has performed on five continents and recorded for Warner Classics and Harmonia Mundi, collaborating with artists from Rolando Villazón to the Talich Quartet.

She's joined by Brazilian percussionist Edmundo Carneiro, whose career spans over 66 countries and collaborators from Baden Powell to De La Soul, and multi-instrumentalist Pierre Baillot on oud, duduk and flutes, founder of the world-jazz project Maido.

Together, the trio reimagines the grand guitar repertoire through the oud, oriental flutes, and percussion - each musician bringing their own history and instrument to this old new music.
