To mark International Day of the Girl, this conversation explores the theme of modern femininity at the heart of Zoe's book, Good Slut. 

Zoe's widely-discussed book is an exploration, and passionate defence, of girls' and women's freedom and power in the West today: that which we already have and that which we can grasp.

Less about sex and more about everything, Zoe argues that whatever problems remain, do not go out into the world feeling like a marked victim. To think power not as fixed- held in absolute terms by men, or some other group, but as something fluid that you can grab too. To think of yourself as a powerful machine - more powerful than you think - who has a lot more to you than appearance.

Don't be embarrassed or try to curb your appetites (well, unless they're physically harmful) – for money, success, career. 'Having it all' has been hugely discredited but it is something you should happily aim for, if you want.
