Parent & Baby Fest

Free one-day event for expecting parents and families with children under 4s. 

Do you have a new baby? Toddlers running around? Are you pregnant? A fantastic opportunity for you to get the inspiration & information you’ll need for these magical first years of parenthood, while meeting other families and spending a special Sunday with your loved ones.

The day will be a mix of:

  • Parenting talks and workshops led by a team of excellent experts
  • A variety of children activities: music, yoga, football, storytelling and more!
  • Ongoing family fun on the Hampstead Beach including a portrait drawing, craft, storytime with PJ Library and Mystical Faries as well as Jungle Jam children books activities.

Book now for the sessions below:

  • Please book a ticket for each activity for both you and your child (if over 6months).
  • Please do not book an activity unless you definitely intend to come and let us know in case you cannot make it in the end. This is to ensure that the next one on the waiting list can enjoy the activity.
  • During the day, we will be collecting unused nappies for JCORE to send to destitute asylum seekers. Please bring nappies along!

Classical Concert for Families

11am-12pm

Join Susan Jiwey, operatic Soprano, for a fun-filled and interactive concert performing favourite songs and arias from the world of Opera and Musical Theatre, accompanied by piano. A unique experience for both babies and parents. Children must be accompanied by an adult​. Newborn - under 3s and their families​.


Mum and Baby Yoga

11-11.30am

With Alice Morgan and The Baby Yoga. Stretch, strengthen and relax with your baby, as you do especially-adapted yoga exercises which enhance your bond with your baby and are beneficial for both parent and baby alike. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 3 months to walking​.


Pregnancy Yoga

11-11.45am

Take some time to relax and focus on yourself and your new baby in our Pregnancy Yoga session. Through moderate exercises, we will build strength both internally and physically using stamina-increasing movements, breath and sound work—suited to all stages of pregnancy from 12 to 42 weeks.


All you need to know about Weaning

11am-12pm

With Riverside Cares. This talk covers everything you need to know about Weaning, with plenty of time for your questions and tips and tricks throughout on how to make weaning healthy and fun!


First Aid with Riverside Cares

12.30-1pm

Jill Wheatcroft, Lecturer in Child Health from Riverside Cares, will be highlighting the first aid techniques needed for CPR and Choking in infants and children under 3s. Following the session there will be an opportunity to ask any questions on early motherhood, babies and their well-being.


Apple Tart Baking with ‘Cooking Parties’

1.15-2.15pm

Join Cooking Parties as they prepare delicious and healthy apple tarts- just on time for dessert! Children must be accompanied by an adult​. 2-4 years old.


Baby weighing clinic

2-2.30pm

Riverside Cares will be offer a pop up baby weighing services!Babies under 3 months​.


Hartbeeps Babybell (0-6 months)

2.15-2.45pm

Babybell classes for parents and their newborns uses elements of baby yoga, baby massage and calming techniques alongside soundtracks of original remixed nursery rhymes and lullabies. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 6 weeks - 6 months.


Child’s mental, cognitive and physical development with Parent Infant Centre

2.15-3.15pm

Join Child and Adult Psychotherapist, Dr Stella Acquarone, to discover the stepping stones in child’s mental, cognitive and physical development- for new parents to learn what to look for/forward. For parents of all ages.


A special interactive Puppet Show for 2-4 years old

2.30-3.15pm

UH-OH! Captain Bones has lost his treasure, and he'll need all the help he can get to find it again! Join Tigerboat Theatre on another immersive adventure, as they bring their piratical wonderland back to JW3. With puppetry, music, bubbles and buckets of fun, this is an ocean-going adventure for the very littlest of adventurers. Children must be accompanied by an adult​. Ages 2-4 years old.


Super Soccer Stars for 2-4 years old

2.30-3pm

At Super Soccer Stars, we use the ball as the vehicle to help children develop self-confidence, improve gross motor skills, socialisation skills, coordination and stability building activities. Each class includes rich language exposure, and movements such as running, jumping and changing directions. Children must be accompanied by an adult.


Kick and Play for 1-2 years old

3-3.30pm

Kick and Play is a parent-child pre-soccer and movement programme specifically designed for toddlers between 12 and 24 months. Our experienced instructors along with our puppet friends, Mimi and Pepe, will take you and your little one through a world of exciting physical activity. Individual attention, positive reinforcement, and engaging original music help to develop pre-soccer skills that will have your toddler learning to balance, run, kick and play – all while having a blast. Children must be accompanied by an adult.


Mindfulness for new and expecting parents

3.15-4pm

A Mindfulness instructor, Selina Shaikh, will be teaching Mindfulness techniques to encourage emotional wellbeing during the antenatal and postnatal period. Selina is the founder of Being Mumma, pecialises in practicing Mindfulness during pregnancy and in the postnatal period.


Family Music Time with Caroline for Under 4s

3.30-4pm

Join us for family fun time with Caroline and her guitar! Enjoy together a wide repertoire of songs- old and new, songs which tell a story, songs to dance to- accompanied by props and instruments. Caroline has been running her own children's music sessions for nearly twenty years around NW3 and has worked in schools and nurseries, care homes and day centres.
