This is Chanukah 101 and you’re invited. Yes, YOU.

Chanukah is arguably one of the most fun Jewish festivals out there but after your fourth doughnut and sixth latke (some traditional Chanukah foods you’ll enjoy if you come to this class), it’s hard to remember why Jews are obsessed with eating delicious, oily foods and lighting numerous candles each night.

Two incredible educators, Rabbi Oliver Joseph and Miriam Lorie, will take you on a 90 minute journey exploring the festival, its rituals and how different Jewish cultures celebrate it. You'll get the chance to ask all your questions (the more bizarre, the better!) and get all the answers you need to be able to enjoy the Jewish Festival of Lights.

Oh, and there'll be be dinner beforehand, because how could we ask you to learn on an empty stomach?

Young JW3 is here to provide you a non-judgemental, cross-communal space for you to learn everything you always wanted to know (but were too afraid to ask) about this iconic Jewish festival. This class is open to anyone in their 20s-30s interested in learning about Jewish culture, ritual, and tradition. So what are you waiting for?

If you’ve made it to the end of this description (phew!) and are still a little unsure if this class is for you and want to have a quick chat to learn more, feel free to email joe@jw3.org.uk.
