Anatomy of a Big Band: Matinee Concert

Composer, and Zorn collaborator, Sam Eastmond explores what it means to be both Jewish and British today. Described by John Zorn’s Tzadik Label as “one of the most adventurous Big Bands working today” Eastmond’s Spike Orchestra features some of the UK’s most outrageous players, this new work is large ensemble Radical Jewish Culture though the British lens. With live visuals from fine artist Miki Shaw. Brit-Ish is a project supported by The New Music Biennial (see brand guide for correct copy). This concert will open up the music into its different elements and melodies, allowing composer Sam Eastmond to explain what is Jewish Music and define Radical Jewish Culture.
