Sara Barron: Enemies Closer

Sara Barron returns to JW3 with her new critically acclaimed show

Arts & Culture

2018 Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer nominee, Sara grew up reform in a Jewish suburb of Chicago before immigrating to the UK in 2012 and marrying her Mancunian atheist husband.  While stateside, she wrote for Vanity Fair, published two essay collections, and earned the role of host for the hit U.S. storytelling show, The Moth. This, in turn, gave her the bug for live performance.

Her work has featured most recently on The Guilty Feminist, BBC R4Xtra, and Dave Gorman’s ‘Modern Life is Goodish’. This August, Sara returned to the Fringe following her five-star debut hour and two sell-out runs at London's Soho Theatre. Her stunning new show – ‘Enemies Closer’ - examines kindness, meanness, ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends, current husbands, all four of her remaining friends, and two of her twelve enemies.

“Simply unmissable” (Times)… “Enemies Closer is a step into the big league for this gleefully profane comic” (the Guardian)… “An excellent line in cynicism about sex, life and friendship.” (Evening Standard)… “If your friends told you they had no idea who Sara Barron was, the verdict would be that they’ve probably been living under a rock, living a life without laughter” (Edinburgh Festivals Magazine)…
