Pilecki

Q&A with Professor Antony Polonsky

Classes & Courses

Witold Pilecki volunteered to go into Auschwitz so he could learn about conditions there. On his escape he passed the information to the Western democracies.

We will show the film “Pilecki” by Miroslaw Krzyszkowski, followed by a wider conversation about Auschwitz camp led by Professor Antony Polonsky, renowned specialist in history of Jews in Eastern Europe. Professor Polonsky will be joined by Professor Mary Fulbrook FBA, Professor of German History at UCL.

The date has been chosen close to Holocaust Remembrance Day, which was established on the day Auschwitz was liberated. This is a partner event with the Polish Cultural Institute and the Institute for Polish-Jewish Studies.
