Paris: City of Love and a Whole Lot More

With William Tyler MBE

Classes & Courses

From the earliest beginnings, before the Romans, up to the present day, we shall look at the history of Paris one of the world’s greatest cities. We shall see how it developed as a national capital, how it was beautified, but also how it was governed, how its people, both rich and poor, lived, and the roles it has played in both French and European history.

Our story will incorporate conquest and revolution, prosperity and poverty, religious intolerance and democratic idealism. All of life will feature in our story this term.
