Mothers

with Jacqueline Rose and Naomi Gryn

Arts & Culture

Part of the Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival

Internationally renowned writer, academic and thinker, Jacqueline Rose, discusses her new book, Mothers: An Essay on Love and Cruelty. In it, she argues that mothers are the ultimate scapegoat for all that is wrong with the world, and the ones expected to repair it. Taking in history, policy, culture, psychoanalysis and feminism, this is a rousing call to action; unless we recognise what role we are asking mothers to perform in the world, we will continue to tear both the world and mothers to pieces. Chaired by Naomi Gryn.
