We will explore the richness of modern Jewish literature through reading Israeli, European and American books. Including Ariel Kahn's Raising Sparks, a Kabbalistic coming of age story that takes us from the Old City of Jerusalem to the streets of Safed, Tel Aviv and Jaffa,  Ellen Umansky's The Fortunate Ones, a debut novel connecting World War II Vienna and contemporary Los Angeles through a Chaim Soutine painting, and  Magnolia Street, Louis Golding's 1932 bestseller about Jewish Manchester.
