We are pleased to invite you to the inaugural showing of Kvell Your Darlings, JW3’s very own showing of the most exciting new theatre and performance London has to offer, including a chance for you the audience to help these artists shape their work. This event will present extracts from plays by Roxy Cook, Cecilia Gragnani, Katharina Reinthaller and Joe Sellman-Leava, who explore a range of stories about history, family and memory. A Latvian Jew, Annie "Londonderry" Kopchovsky emigrated to the US. In 1894, at 23 years old, she left her husband and three children to be the first woman to circumnavigate the globe on a bicycle, defying society’s expectations, the mockery of the press and her own economic struggles. Written and performed by Cecilia Gragnani. Directed and dramaturged by Katharina Reinthaller.

A Woman Walks into a Bank

A new piece of storytelling about memory in modern Russia. Part fairy-tale, part true story, it looks at a day in the life of one elderly woman as she navigates a complex and corrupt Moscow to get the help she needs. A Woman Walks into a Bank is an examination of Russians’ relationship to their past and present, and how important the daily act of forgetting is if you want to get by. Directed by Roxy Cook.
