A Kid for Two Farthings

Cinema

With an intro by JW3 film programmer Alex Davidson.

Named one of Time Out best film events in London this week. This is screening as part of JW3’s Jews on the British Screen series.

A boy believes his pet goat may be a unicorn, in this representation of the Jewish community around Petticoat Lane from 1954.

In this delightful, fanciful tale, a young boy mistakes a one-horned goat for a miraculous unicorn and eagerly anticipates good fortune for his friends about the neighbourhood. A whimsical film, it’s an intriguing, even adventurous family-friendly tale, featuring a lovely performance from David Kossoff.
