14 centuries ago a religion came into being in Arabia called Islam. Today 3 million Muslims live in the UK. Other than what we read in the media, what do we really know about Islam and Muslims? In a wide-ranging and comprehensive introduction to Islam, we will examine and discuss the birth of Islam, the life of its Prophet, Mohammad, and its holy book the Qur’an.

How did we fair living under Islamic rule? Did Judaism and Islam interact with each other? Do Judaism and Islam have any similarities or commonalities? How did we fair living under Islamic rule? Mehri Niknam, an Iranian-born Jew, has been a senior consultant in Jewish-Muslim relations for over 25 years. Her academic field is “Comparative Judaism and Islam in the Middle Ages”. She has an MBE for her contributions to Jewish-Muslim Relations, and is an Honorary Fellow at Leo Baeck College.
