Classes & Courses

Television companies have made many brilliant documentaries featuring the experiences of Holocaust Survivors. JW3 is proud to show these films followed by a Q & A with the Survivors themselves.

A young Jewish boy born in Łódź, Poland, Zigi Shipper, at only fourteen-years-old, stepped off a cattle truck into Auschwitz-Birkenau. So he stood alone. 8 4 3 0 3: five figures that identified him in the camp, and which he will never forget. This film is a vivid testimony of how Zigi reflects on his experiences of enduring and ultimately surviving the atrocities as a young boy

Surviving the Holocaust - Freddie Knoller's War
In a disarmingly frank interview on film, Holocaust survivor Freddie Knoller (now in his 90s) tells his personal story of being a young Jewish man during World War II. Speaking directly to camera and accompanied by extensive archive footage, he relives his past and draws on intense memories to navigate the extraordinary adventure of his early life. Freddie's story is a dramatic - and often surprisingly funny - real-life account.
After the film, Freddie will take questions from the audience.
