Granta Magazine: The Short Form | 2.30pm | £10

Book a day pass here for £25

Is the short story having a resurgence or are we losing the artistry of the form? Granta editor and writer, Sigrid Rausing, novelist and short story writer A. M. Homes, and novelist and editor of The Penguin Book of the Contemporary British Short Story, Philip Hensher talk to journalist and writer Simon Garfield about the short form – in fiction, memoir and journalism.

For the last 40 years, Granta has published many of the world’s finest writers and photographers. Ranging from Nobel laureates to debut novelists, travel writing and translated fiction to investigative journalism and memoir, each quarterly themed issue reaffirms the power and urgency of story. Over the years, contributors have included George Saunders, Julian Barnes, Maggie O’Farrell, Sally Rooney, Han Kang and many others.

Pocket-Sized is a day-long festival celebrating the short form in print, digital and audio formats with some of the most influential thinkers, writers and poets around. The building will be buzzing with talks, discussions, panels, film, a roaming audio lounge and a pop-up bookstore. Buy your ticket for an individual event or a day pass for entry to the whole festival.
