A film about a teenager’s trip to Europe with her grandfather to learn how he survived the Holocaust. The film won a children’s Bafta.

Finding My Family: Holocaust, which features Maggie Fleet, now in year 12 at school but she was 14 year old when she made the film with her Grandfather  “Opa” Steven Frank. It was made by the BBC children’s channel, CBBC Newsround. Maggie and Steven are participating in JW3’s HMD on 24th January. Steven, who was 83 when the film was shot, said it was "a great honour to receive the Bafta. I hope that the film, with this accreditation, will serve as a great boost for Holocaust education. We must not forget the past."

In the film, which won the award in the factual category, Mr Frank takes his granddaughter to Amsterdam where he went to school, to the Theresienstadt camp where he was incarcerated, and to Auschwitz, where his father was murdered.
