The Baltic Region: 1700-2100

With William Tyler MBE

Classes & Courses

The Baltic has been linked to England from the earliest times as a trading partner, and yet we know relatively little of its rich history. In this course we shall seek to understand more of this history from the rise of Sweden as a European Superpower through to the regional co-operation of today. We shall see how the region has been threatened by its large neighbours, Russia and Germany.

Our story will also encompass, in addition to Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Denmark and Finland.
