Antisemitism Here and Now

Deborah Lipstadt in Conversation

Arts & Culture

Deborah Lipstadt, the historian who exposed David Irving as a Holocaust denier in a landmark trial in 1993 returns to the UK to launch her latest book, Antisemitism Here and Now.

Here, Professor Lipstadt will offer a penetrating and provocative analysis of growing Antisemitism in contemporary culture; from violent white-nationalist protests in Charlottesville, USA, to attacks on synagogues and cemeteries across Europe and the US, and the antisemitism row raging in the British Labour Party. She will be joined by panel chair Ned Temko, who was editor of the Jewish Chronicle from 1990-2005 before leaving to become Chief Political Correspondent of The Observer.

Her insight will shed light on the key questions recurring around the issue: What is antisemitism? Does it come from the right or the left? Is anti-Zionism the same as antisemitism? Are there different kind of antisemites? And what can be done to combat this extremely damaging racist ideology?
