February Camp 2020

17 - 21 February

This coming February the brilliant Infinite Jest Theatre Company are returning to JW3 to run another fun-filled half-term camp for 5-7 and 8-11 year olds. Join us as we enter the murky and mysterious world of international crime, espionage and undercover detectives. With your help we'll create our very own Whodunnit which will be performed at the end of the week for family and friends. Will they be able to figure out….Whodunnit?  Infinite Jest will bring their exceptional team of performing arts professionals to turn our young creatives into masters of disguise with workshops on:

Creating a character
Perfecting an accent
Stage combat
Make up design
Slapstick
Mask

There will also be dancing, singing, game playing and crafting sessions on mask making, costume and make up, creating codes, cartoon drawing and so much more!

As well as learning new story-telling skills, by the end of the week our young creatives will have made new friends, developed their team building and communication skills and grown in confidence!

A week packed with learning, laughter and lovely lunches from JW3's kosher restaurant, Zest.

FAQs

When should I book?

You can book straight away! Places do fill up! Please note that online bookings will close at 2pm on Thursday 17th October for the camp on Wednesday 23rd October including Early Bird club. (Due to the Chaggim and insufficient time to be able to process your booking). You may come in person on Wednesday morning (not for the Early Bird Club), but there may be a queue and little wait whilst we process your information.

Does my child need to be Jewish to attend?

No, any child can join us on camp. We promote an inclusive and friendly environment and there will be some content that relates to Jewish culture.

What will my child be eating?

Our in-house restaurant, Zest, provide kosher catering for camp. The children have a selection of fruit at morning break and a biscuit and/or chocolate at afternoon break. Lunches always include a salad bar selection and vary from pizza and pasta with tomato sauce and cheese (on the side), fish and/or falafel and chips or plain bagels with either cream cheese, egg, tuna or cheddar cheese fillings. We always provide a vegetarian option and can provide a gluten free option if requested beforehand.

My child is 4 years old, can they attend?

We cannot take children under 5 years of age on our camp for legal reasons.

What should my child bring?

Please make sure your child brings a water bottle and TONS of ENERGY. We also recommend that children wear clothes that they can get dirty as we do some arts and crafts activity.

What time do I pick up my child?

Please pick up your child at 3.30pm (You are invited to the film showing on Friday 25th 2.30pm). If you are running late please call on 020 7433 8988 and we may be able to put your child in ‘After Club’ at the cost of £6 (not available on Friday).

What are staff to children ratios?

We run a 1: 8 ratio for Under 8's and 1:10 ratio for older age group.

I/my family are in receipt of statutory benefits, does this change the cost of Camp?

Concessions are available for those families who are recipients of benefits. Please contact Box Office to discuss individual circumstances. Proof of the benefit will need to be provided.

Can I bring medication for my child?

The only prescribed medicines which will be held by JW3 staff are asthma inhalers and EpiPens which should be in the original container, labelled with the child’s name and dosage. Any other medication must be approved by the Programme Director in consultation with the parent/guardian. Antibiotics will not be stored or administered by JW3 staff.
