February Camp 2020

17 - 21 February

Join us for an action-packed week, where each day experts from Infinite Jest theatre company will run specialist drama-based workshops, filled with fun and play, games, arts and crafts, and of course a nutritious and delicious kosher lunch and snacks from our very own Zest restaurant.

This February, our half-term camp will take your children on week-long Whodunit mystery, with lots of disguising, clues and decoys, detective work and riddle-solving. Over Five days of unbounded creativity, your young Sherlock Holmeses will be devising characters, writing scripts, songs and dance, creating sound effects, exploring physical theatre and improvisation, as they create their very own Whodunit play, which they'll perform for family and friends at the end of the week. And there's also drama game playing and daily crafting activities, making props and masks,  costume design and set painting.

Day 1 – Becoming masters of disguise

We conjure up our very own alter ego. By the end of the day no one will recognise you!

Day 2 – Scripting our Whodunit

Each age group will devise their own Whodunit. Will our seasoned detectives, assisted by the audience, be able to solve the mystery? Shocks, surprises and chills await!!

Day 3 – Dancing and soundscaping

We'll devise a dance routine and become foley artists – creating sound effects for our shows.

Day 4 – Physical theatre

Inspired by internationally renowned theatre companies such as Frantic Assembly (Curious Incident, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) we'll learn how we can use our bodies to tell stories, through gesture, mime, dance and movement.

Day 5 – Show time!

Bringing everything together, putting on the final touches, dress rehearsal and the world premiere. The excitement, the nerves, the exhilaration, the standing ovation – the lifelong memory.

A week packed with learning, laughter and lovely lunches from JW3's kosher restaurant, Zest.
